When I was growing up, I was never really interested in beef jerky. It simply wasn’t something my parents bought at the grocery store, and it always seemed to be so heavily marketed toward men. Even now, it’s not something I eat often, but I’ve found it to be a great snack option while traveling. When I was following the Paleo lifestyle, I was able to find a couple of different brands that had quality ingredients and that tasted great. I’d buy them when I was going out-of-town so that I had an accessible, healthy snack when a real meal wasn’t an option. But, about a month ago, I looked into making homemade beef jerky in order to 1) save money and 2) have an AIP-friendly option.
